10 Student Obtain stock from your instructor. *  
20 Lathe Place part in a chuck.  Face to cleanup and center drill.
30 Lathe Re-chuck the part so that 5 inches of stock is sticking out of the chuck. Bring up the tailstock for center support.
40 Lathe Rough turn the 1.125 diameter and shoulder, leaving a minimum of 0.06 on the diameter and 0.015 on the shoulder face.
50 Lathe Re-chuck the part on the rough turned end so that 3 inches of stock is sticking out. Face to length and center drill.
60 Lathe Turn the 1.73 diameter.
70 Lathe Bring up the tailstock. Using a dead center, support the end for knurling. Remember to properly lubricate the dead center.
80 Lathe Knurl the part as specified.
90 Lathe Rough turn the 0.890 and 1.125 diameters and shoulders, leaving a minimum of 0.06 on the diameter and 0.015 on the shoulder faces.
100 Lathe Set up part between centers. Machine the undercut.
110 Lathe Finish turn and chamfer the diameters between centers. Use shim stock to protect the finished surfaces.
120 Lathe Radius and deburr the part.
130 Instructor Turn in for inspection. *
