10 Instructor Secure stock from Instructor *  
20 Vertical Mill Check the vise for squareness using a dial indicator.
30 Vertical Mill Set Rpm and Feed rate for squaring the part.
40 Vertical Milling Machine Square and size the block. Check for parallel and perpendicularity after each cut.
50 Bench Layout bored hole location.
60 Radial Drill Press Center drill, pilot drill and drill a 1-45/64 inch hole at bore location.
70 Vertical Mill Check and adjust, if necessary, the tram or squareness of the milling machine head.
80 Vertical Mill Have Instructor check the squareness of the head. *  
90 Vertical Mill Set up an edge finder and locate center of the bore location.
100 Vertical Mill Setup a boring head according to your textbook and information sheets.
110 Vertical Mill Have Instructor check your setup and explain how to use the ball micrometer for checking location. *  
120 Vertical Mill Calculate the bore diameter for a RC 6 fit to mating part Crank Handle Body done in basic lathe. Write the sizes in the boxes to the right. Min Bore Dia. Max Bore Dia.
   
130 Vertical Mill Have Instructor check your calculations. *  
140 Vertical Mill Bore hole to location first, then bore hole to the size requirement.
145 Vertical Mill Move the spindle to the "F" drill hole.
150 Vertical Mill Center drill and drill the "F" drill hole through.
160 Vertical Mill Set up to drill and tap the #10-32 UNF holes.
170 Vertical  Drill and tap the #10-32 UNF holes.
180 Vertical Mill Place the stock back in the vice. Use an indicator in the spindle to locate the center of the bored hole as shown in your text. (We normally would cut the chamfer and bore the other holes immediately after boring the 1.75 hole, but we need to learn how to indicate a previously bored hole)
190 Instructor Have instructor check your hole indication. *  
200 Vertical Mill Set up boring tool to cut the 0.03 x 45 degree chamfer.
210 Vertical Mill Cut the chamfer.
220 Bench Calculate the 0.625 hole positions from the center of the 1.75 bored hole. See Instructor if you need assistance. Place measurements in the box below.

240 Vertical Mill Bore #1 hole to location first, then bore hole to the size requirement.
250 Vertical Mill Bore #2 hole to location first, then bore hole to the size requirement.
260 Bench Deburr and inspect the part
270 Instructor Turn in part for grading. *
