50                        Instructor                              Obtain the correct size SPC micrometer

                                                                            and calibrate it to a gage block or standard.

 

60                        Instructor                              Indicate the Micrometer has been

calibrated.

 

   70                         Inspection Area                   Inspect the parts in order and in

subgroups. Code according to the

blueprint specification and record the

measurements on the chart. Read the number

in the .001 position. Do Not Round off.

 

80                        Inspection Area                   Add the five sizes in each subgroup

                                                                            and write the result in the Total box on

                                                                            the chart.

 

90                        Inspection Area                   Find the average of each subgroup

                                                                            by multiplying the total of each column

                                                                            by 2. Write in the answer and move the

decimal point one place to the left.

(i.e. –1 X 2 = -2  written as -.2)(see

Figure 15-12, 15-13 in text)
