| 10 | Grinding Area | Locate the overlapping disk wheel balancer and the wheel mounted on the balancing arbor. | ||
| 20 | Grinding Area | Completely remove the wheel weights. Have checked by an Instructor. | * | |
| 30 | Grinding Area | Find the heavy spot on the wheel and mark it with chalk. | ||
| 40 | Grinding Area | Mount the wheel weights on each side of the wheel just above the horizontal centerline with the heavy mark at the bottom as shown. |
| 50 | Grinding Area | Turn the wheel 90 degrees and allow it to
stop. If the heavy spot is still down, move both weights up slightly,
farther away from the heavy spot. If the heavy spot is up, lower both weights
slightly. Continue this procedure until wheel is balanced when set
in any position.
Note: If you don’t move each weight the same amount away from the heavy spot, you will be chasing the heavy spot all around the wheel. |
